According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water and in the word.”
Baptism at Saint Patrick Catholic Church is typically scheduled on the first Saturday of the month at 3:15 pm and the third Saturday of each month at 3:15pm. Prior to the celebration of the sacrament, parents must participate in a baptism preparation class, which are offered the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 pm in the rectory conference room. You MUST contact the parish office to register for this class. In addition to this, please fill out and submit the Godparent Form and the Baptism Parent Form, and submit the completed forms with a copy of the child’s birth certificate.
